The new blog design is finally here and I’m so excited to show you all the new features it has. Over the past few months, I’ve been working with the talented Lindsay of Purr Design, who is also a food blogger at Love and Olive Oil. She made my blog design dreams a reality!! I couldn’t be happier with the result and I can’t recommend her enough. Lindsay really read what was in my mind and more important she endured my meticulous attention to detail, and she also was extremely patient when I changed my mind along the way. So, thanks to the incredible Lindsay for this gorgeous new blog look!
She also designed my new logo. Isn’t that beautiful? I love the clean look! It’s simple and easy to remember. I also love the two shades and tones of the purple.
As you can see now the logo and the blog have these two purple tones that I absolutely loooove! I chose these colours because I want colours that represent the name “Primavera”, which in Portuguese/Spanish/Italian means spring (on my About Page I explained better how I came up with the name Primavera Kitchen). For me the best colour to represent spring is definitely the cherry blossom colour.
Now, let’s talk about the new features. First I’ve got a new menu with Life, Travel and Shop tabs. I’ll be writing more posts about Life and Travel soon!
Subscribe for new recipes & a free e-cookbook
On this menu you can easily search for recipes by clicking on “Browse Recipes” or “Search box” on the top right of the menu bar.
Now we have a homepage where you will see this featured area with 3 tabs (Low-carb, Dinner, One-Pan) with 4 pictures each. If you click on one, you’ll be taken to that recipe and this featured photos can change every time you re-load the page.
Horizontal Subscribe Box
Below that you’ll see the horizontal subscribe box to receive new recipes directly to your email box every week.
Then we added the most recent recipes on the blog and my picture where you can click and go directly to the About Page. I also have this GORGEOUS subscribe box on my sidebar and below that you can easily search for any recipe by typing the name of the ingredient or the recipe into the search bar.
Subscribe Box on the Sidebar
Browse by Category
We also have the Browse by Category section where you can see the most popular categories on the blog and if you click on one of those titles you’ll be taken to the visual recipe index (I’ll explain about this visual recipe index later!).
Featured Products
The last featured section on the homepage is the “Featured Products”. You guys always ask me what are the kitchen utensils and small appliances I use while I’m cooking so I thought it would be nice to create an area just for that. If you click on one of those items you’ll be taken to the Amazon.com where you can buy the product.
Visual Recipe Index
And we now have a Visual Recipe Index with 21 main recipe categories. You now can easily click to browse my recipes in the category of your choice.
And the best part, if you scroll all the way down on the same visual recipe index page, you will see the list of ingredients from A to Z. Cool, right?!
Nutrition Information
Also on the recipe box we’ll have all the nutrition data of the recipes. I’m still updating it and soon the most popular recipes on the blog will have this extra info.
And below the recipe box you will see all the products I used in the recipe. Super awesome!
Ah I almost forgot to say that the blog is mobile friendly for you who love to visit the blog using your phone or tablet. You can easily access the recipe index via the menu on the top left.
I really hope you like the new blog design and enjoy it. I still have a few things to work out such as recipe formatting, so hang tight if things look wonky. Everything will be updated soon. Thanks a lot for your support. Honestly, you mean the world to me.

Carol - in Texas says
Hi! First time viewer of this site. Was looking for a good recipe for the pork chops (among other meats) delivered by my grocery store while I “hunker down” here in Texas (where I am an “elderly at-risk” life long resident)! I found one that I will be using soon and look forward to getting more recipes. I do have one complaint about the site though – the appearance of a video running ads and recipe videos right across the middle of the screen on my iPhone. It covers the recipe and narrative and I have to keep scrolling up so I can read above and below the distracting ad/recipe video. It will NOT let me opt out or close that video or the videos that keep playing automatically after it. I am going to have to copy this recipe to a handwritten card to use again.
If I save this recipe on-line I will have to go through the same process each time instead of having the entire “uninterrupted” page at my fingertips (in the counter while preparing and cooking) I noticed the same little video was across this blog page but it DID have a “CLOSE” option and I was able to read this blog with no interruptions. If you can give an opt-out/close feature to that little mini-video – this site will be PERFECT (in my opinion as of now). Thank you for giving us the ability to comment on this site – I read comments -good or bad – on every site. I have learned a lot of info from all comments. I noticed that others on this site/blog ARE excited about the changes so evidently the previous site had some problems and they have been handled. I would have to go back to previous blogs to see what they were – just like I have to check the comments on the apps I use or are wanting to install. Bon appetite’ to you and all your followers!

Sorry about that. We just removed the video popup on the site and also another popup. It should be much better to navigate on the site now. Hope it helps. Thanks for your feedback!
