Equipment

Ingredients

Instructions

  • Heat the air fryer to 380°F. Peel the sweet potatoes and slice them into uniform ¼-inch thick sticks, trimming off the thin ends.
  • Place the sweet potatoes in a large mixing bowl, and toss with olive oil, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  • Cook in 2 or 3 batches, depending on the size of your basket without overcrowding the pan, until they’re crispy. I recommend 10-12 minutes, turning halfway or shaking the basket to make sure they are cooking evenly. The cooking time may vary based on your air fryer.
  • Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce such as ketchup or aioli.

Notes

  • Try to look for shorter sweet potatoes for your fries to make the most of their full length when slicing.
  • Cut the potatoes as evenly as you can, so they all cook at the same rate.
  • After washing, pat the sweet potatoes dry with a paper towel before seasoning them.
  • Be careful not to overcrowd the air fryer basket. Arrange the fries in a single layer, and cook them in 2-3 batches, if necessary.
  • For the best texture, flip the fries or shake the basket halfway through cooking.
  • To Store: Place leftovers in an airtight container and store in the fridge for up to 5 days.
  • To Freeze: Store in a freezer-safe bag and freezer for up to 3 months.
  • To Reheat: For a crispy texture, reheat them in the air fryer or oven until warmed through. You can also heat them in the microwave, but they won’t be as crispy.
