Let’s get really fire-up at the Weber Grill Academy Blogger’s Party! Today I am sharing photos and all the experience I had at this awesome party!

Last week, some blogger friends and me had the privilege to be the part of the first Weber Blogger’s Party at the Weber – Canada’s first Grill Academy. This is the only cooking school in Canada dedicated to the art and skill of grilling. We were invited to experience a unique hands-on culinary experience that was designed for grillers of all levels. It was an incredible night and I was delighted to be part of this event and share everything with you guys.

Weber Grill Specialist Chef Michael P. Clive was responsible for guiding us through a hands-on grilling class. I have to say that I love the way he explained everything about grilling. The class was very informative and educational as well as fun. He used different types of grills and grilling accessories and we also had the chance to use both gas and charcoal. It was definitely an exciting class.

Before starting the event, we tasted some awesome appetizers such as brie with blueberry sauce, arugula pizza and cute Watermelon grilled fruit plate.

When we started the class all the stations were already set up with all the ingredients pre-measured and prepped for us.Â
I thought it was great because our job was easier and faster. Also, it reduces the risk of your recipe turning out wrong. We also had ipads on the stations so we could read all the instructions for the recipes we were cooking during the night.

Our first recipe was to season the chicken to make an incredibly DELICIOUS Smoked Chicken Drumettes with Orange-Honey Glaze.
Guys, these drumettes were to die for, especially because of this glaze. It was made with ½ cup of orange marmalade, ¼ cup honey and ½ teaspoon ground cayenne pepper. I really love this recipe and I can’t wait to make it again at home.

Then we made Grilled Pineapple Upside-Down Cake. No words could describe accurately how good this cake was.
It was so good that I filled my plate two times 😉 That was the first time I made an upside-down cake and the first time I baked a cake on a grill!!! I mean how awesome is that?!!!

We also made Cedar-Planked Salmon. This was also my first time making salmon on a cedar-plank and to be honest I don’t know why I waited so long to try and to make this. It was DIVINE, so juicy and flavourful.

We also made Asparagus and Potato Napoleons with Tarragon Vinaigrette. This vinaigrette was definitely the queen of this dish.
The combination of Dijon mustard, fresh tarragon, lemon juice and extra-virgin olive oil, was perfect and just brought the potatoes and asparagus to the next level.
The last dish of the night was the delicious Beef Satay with peanut sauce. It is incredible how peanut butter goes really well with beef. Love this sauce.

Now, I have to say guys that THE BEST part of this amazing and fun night was when Chef Michel announced that each and every one of us were going to received the new Q 1200 grill in our favourite colours. Mine was blue ;-). I can’t wait to start to use my brand new grill when the weather gets better. I promise I will come back with a delicious recipe for you guys, using my grill.

This was one of a kind experience. I left the event with a big smile on my face and very grateful for having this great opportunity to meet new bloggers, learning more technics to grill better and working with this amazing team at Weber. I have to give a special thanks to Theresa who was helpful, friendly, enthusiastic and kind with all of us.

This is amazing! My husband and I bought our first Weber before we even closed on our house and use it several times a week. He’s much more skilled than I am, but learning to be a grill pro is one of my goals. Looks like you grilled some fabulous food and learned a lot 🙂
