Peanut Butter Green Smoothie with Pepperidge Farm® Cracker Chips
This post is brought to you by Pepperidge Farm® and BlogHer, but all opinions are my own.
I think one of the biggest challenges to eating better is when you work eight or more hours a day and when you get hungry you just grab whatever you can eat, especially if you don’t plan ahead. Before you leave for work, pack your own nutritious snacks and you will be satisfied when the 3 p.m. cravings hit. Why is it important? I’m in the camp that likes to eat every 3 hours to help keep my metabolism working well and my energy levels high.
I always love drinking something like a green juice or a green smoothie and also eat something crunchy such as crackers or nuts. That being said, when Pepperidge Farm® Cracker Chips contacted me about trying their Multi-Grain Cracker Chips, I thought of it as my chance to try something new, wholesome and crunchy.
They are crispy, light-tasting and airy. Since they are made with real garlic and onions, the taste is delicious with a beautiful balance between the onion and garlic flavors. There are no artificial flavors or artificial colours, and because they’re baked and not fried, they’re lower in fat per serving (20g) than the leading potato chip – 60% less fat.
This Peanut Butter Green Smoothie is so delicious that even if you don’t like spinach I guarantee you will love this one. Why? Because you don’t even get the taste of the green leaves, but you will get all the nutrition value from it. This smoothie is made with almond milk to reduce the amount of calories. The frozen bananas and the 3 ice cubes give it a wonderful creamy texture.
The peanut butter also provides the protein and the good fat we all need for a wholesome snack. Now this is a perfect smoothie recipe to have for the midafternoon snack time along with these Multi-Grain Crackers Chips – there really is a way to bring some goodness to your snack time with great tasting snacks. This looks like the perfect snack combination, Olivia! I’ve never had those cracker chips before, but they look delicious. And that smoothie is just calling my name!
I always pack snacks to take to work so that I don’t go for donuts or whatever other crappy food is laying around the break room. Those crackers sound really good and I bet they taste even better with that smoothie!
I’m the worst at packing healthy snacks for the long work day and then I come home and eat the first thing in site, which is usually a big back of chips! I really need to get better at packing healthier snacks like these crackers! I’m also trying to drink more smoothies in the morning, so this post is perfect 🙂
I am definitely in the camp that likes to eat every 3 hours.. if not every 2 🙂
