This Really Good Summer Fruit Salad is the perfect healthy and delicious summer treat or snack for you. It’s made with blueberry, mango, kiwi, grapes and fresh orange juice.
Every time we think about summer, we think about sunny days, beaches, swimming pools or lakes, patio dinner parties, long days, camping, local and fresh farmers market, frozen drinks, BBQ and of course salads. Oh YES… Salads are definitely the right meal for summer, especially those ones with lots of greens and protein. So, you feel satisfied for a long time without being heavy.
But salads are not only good for lunch or quick dinner. They also make a good healthy dessert. I know some people don’t think fruits are desserts. But when your fruits are very juicy and sweet I don’t see why not fruit salad couldn’t be called a dessert. I called this recipe Really Good Summer Fruit Salad, because it’s really so good that you won’t miss those cakes full of sugar.
What I love about fruit salads is that you can actually use any fruits you have in your kitchen. And fruit salads are awesome as a quick healthy snack for your kids and even for yourself on the go. You can bring it to your work, picnics, potlucks and parties. It’s easy to make and it takes no time to be ready. You just need to chop everything, add in a bowl and mix altogether.
For this recipe I didn’t add any honey or maple syrup because my fruits were already sweet enough. What I did instead was to squeeze some fresh orange juice and pour over the fruit salad. Then, I topped it with Greek yogurt and chopped mint. Mm… So good! Hope you give this recipe a try!
