Learn how to make this delicious and easy Air Fryer Green Beans that are ready in less than 10 minutes and made with Parmesan cheese, olive oil, lemon juice, salt and black pepper! This recipe is perfect for a quick and easy healthy side dish or snack anytime!

I have so many yummy green bean recipes here on the blog because they’re such a great veggie to cook with. Green beans are nutritious, budget-friendly, and perfect for low-carb and keto diets—a win-win in my book!
I usually make these cheesy Parmesan Green Beans or Roasted Green Beans, but lately, I’ve really been enjoying making veggies in my Air Fryer. It’s amazing for green beans because it’s hands-off and they come out nice and crispy, but still tender every time.
Key Ingredients
Green Beans – To prep the green beans, I wash them very well and remove the ends. I like to do that because this ensures they cook evenly and are ready to absorb all the flavors.
Olive Oil – Extra virgin olive oil is always my go-to because of its rich, fruity flavor. However, avocado oil works just as well if you prefer a more neutral oil with a higher smoke point.
Seasonings – I let the green beans shine and season them with just salt and black pepper to taste. After trying various spices, I’ve found that these two simple seasonings highlight the natural sweetness of the green beans without overpowering them.
Parmesan Cheese – Freshly grated Parmesan cheese adds a ton of flavor to the dish. I’ve tested this with pre-grated cheese, but freshly grated gives the best texture and flavor. You can skip the cheese if you’re making this vegan.
Lemon Wedges – A squeeze of fresh lemon juice or a sprinkle of lemon zest just before serving adds a bright, fresh touch. I’ve found that lemon balances the flavors perfectly and enhances the freshness of the green beans.

Instructions to Make Air Fryer Green Beans Recipe

First: Preheat your air fryer to 380ºF if your model requires you to do so. Combine the cleaned and trimmed green beans in a large bowl with olive oil, salt, and pepper. Then, toss to coat them evenly.

Next: Place the green beans in the air fryer basket. You may need to cook them in two batches, depending on the size of your air fryer.

Then: Cook green beans for 5-8 minutes, shaking halfway through, until they’re crisp-tender. Note: The cooking time may vary based on your air fryer and how tender you like your green beans to be.

Finally: Remove the green beans from the air fryer basket and transfer them to a serving dish. Top with a squeeze of fresh lemon juice and freshly shredded Parmesan cheese, and enjoy!

Expert Tips
- I typically buy fresh green beans in bulk, then wash and trim them as needed. You can also buy pre-cut and washed green beans to save time.
- After washing your green beans, I recommend drying them very well. This will help the olive oil and seasonings stick better.
- To save time trimming the ends, line the beans up on a cutting board and cut the tops and bottoms off with a sharp knife.
- Be careful not to overcrowd the air fryer basket, as the hot air needs to circulate around all the green beans. Cook them in two batches, if necessary.

Give your oven a night off and make a whole air fryer meal! I’ve been making these air fryer lamb chops a lot lately, and we absolutely love them! These green beans would also be so good with air fryer salmon or air fryer chicken breast.
I also love serving green beans with skillet steak, garlic butter chicken tenders, this best baked chicken recipe or chicken bites. They pair so well together and make such a delicious combo!
