How long to Cook Waffles in a Waffle Maker?

Waffle makers come in different models and sizes. Because of this, each waffle maker cooks waffles at different times. It usually takes around five minutes but again, each model of waffle maker will vary.

Tips and Notes

    • Try crunchy peanut butter (or another nut butter), chocolate chips, blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, and sliced almonds. You can add a little whipped cream for a special treat!
    • You can also add a scoop of protein powder for a healthy breakfast to fuel your busy week.

    • Unlike pancakes, you shouldn’t stack the waffles on top of each other as you wait for them all to be made. The heat and steam from them will cause the crispy exterior to be soft if you stack them. You can keep them warm in the oven while you wait for them to all finish cooking.

    • When you whip the egg whites and gently fold them into your batter, it helps keep your waffles fluffy. When folding in the eggs, be careful not to deflate them.

    • When you whip your egg whites, make sure your bowl is bone-dry. Moisture in the bowl will prevent your egg whites from foaming up.

Storage tips and How To Freeze

  • To freeze, let the peanut butter waffles cool completely. Stack them with layers of parchment paper. Then, place them in a freezer-safe airtight container and freeze. You can freeze these peanut butter waffle recipe for up to 2 months.
  • I suggest placing parchment paper between the waffles. This way, you can pull them out one by one without them sticking together.
  • When ready to eat, toast them back up in a toaster or toaster oven.

OK, so I NEED to get a waffle-maker to give these a go. If I saw them on a restaurant menu I’d definitely order them. Like you, I love the idea of making slightly decadent things a little healthier. It’s amazing how easy it is to do! I’d especially like to start using coconut milk instead of regular when I bake.

The waffles looks fluffy and delish . But as an Asian who uses coconut a lot, I would skip the coconut milk, its good source of cholesterol , almond milk is a better substitute
